Jennifer Mariani, PhD
Principal Program Director
Dr. Jennifer Mariani is the President/CEO of Charistech.
Her career started in engineering research studying computational fluid dynamics. She then worked for several SF Bay Area firms in defense, software and the transit industry. She founded Charistech in 2017 with the goal of providing exceptional quality-driven services combined with a solid systems engineering foundation.
Jennifer holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from UC Davis, MS in Mechanical Engineering from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and BS in Engineering at California State University, Northridge.
Denise MacNeill
Principal Program Director
Ms. MacNeill is the Office Manager for both our Northern and Southern California offices. Denise oversees and manages our Northern and Southern California offices providing support in day-to-day office operations, financial and operational efforts. Denise worked for the LA Unified School District as an Administrator. She has a Master’s Degree in Special Education and Teaching from CSUN, and Master of Education in Elementary and Middle School Administration/Principalship from Concordia University-Irvine.
Kayte Mariani
Northern California Area Manager
Ms. Mariani oversees the operation in our Northern California office. Before joining CharisTech, Kayte worked in several Bay Area companies including Litton and Teledyne ETM. She was responsible for the planning, direction and control of product development and engineering activities and supervised several teams of engineers and program managers. Kayte holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Santa Clara University.
Jacob Paz, Staff Systems Engineer
Marketing Specialist/Office Administrator
Jacob has contributed to several rail and transit projects, such as the Sound Transit Link Expansions and the California High-Speed Rail, providing Systems Engineering and technical oversight throughout the projects lifecycle. He brings a systems focused mindset with a concentration on requirements management and verification and validation, while ensuring technical accuracy with his background in Mechanical Engineering. Jacob holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from California State University, Sacramento, and is a certified Engineer in Training.
Craig Mariani, Staff Software Engineer
Marketing Specialist/Office Administrator
Craig is currently leading our work in implementing AI and Computer Vision. He is a Data Scientist with experience in generative models, statistical modeling, analytics, machine learning deployment and development, and computer vision. He obtained his B.S. in Computer Science from California Baptist University in Riverside, CA.
Gabriela Esquibel, Marketing Specialist
Marketing Specialist/Office Administrator
Ms. Esquibel is our Marketing Specialist. She manages the company website and prepares marketing collaterals. She holds an Associate Degree in Business and is currently working towards a degree in Healthcare Administration and Marketing from Arizona State University.

Barbara Metzler is author of “Passionaries: Turning Compassion into Action” and “The Gift of Passionaries.” A successful entrepreneur turned author, Barbara Metzler is an expert on American giving, nonprofits, volunteering, and “passionaries,” a word she coined to mean “passionate visionaries.” She has founded five companies, including The Farmer’s Wife which sold tree-fruit by-products. She was California’s “Woman of the Year” in 2007. She enjoys challenges and almost made it to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro with her family and friends. She graduated from USC with a Master in Counseling, and is a devoted Christian supporting numerous philanthropies. She is passionate about celebrating people, positive attitudes, and American giving which is significantly changing our world for the better. Barbara is active in many nonprofits. The proud mother of four fabulous children, and 13 wonderful grandchildren, she resides in San Diego with her wonderful husband of 48 years.
